the yellow fanuc book says if there are two n200 lines in a program, it is only and always the first n200 in program the m99 p200 jumps to. more trivia? glad you asked. the m99 pxxxx starts looking for its nxxxx from the very start of the program. back in the day with slightly slower controls, you could watch the program scroll as the nxxxx was searched for. fun times! especially on a one line led display! p.s. this series of videos you do is both invaluable and brilliant. does haas offer you as an option to a new machine purchase?

I’ve used Nachi cutting tools for 20+ years and have found they are absolutely the best!!!!! Surprising to me is most holes appear to have been reamed and not just drilled. I used one of their M1.7x3.5 taps for over 15 years and had tapped 1,000’s of holes in pneumatic aluminum manifolds. It died one day when I accidentally dropped the tap and it tool holder on the floor. Really a sad day for me, something I’ll never forget as long as I live!!! It was like my old friend. It was a roll tap.

For subprograms, I prefer using M97, instead of M98 - this means the subs are contained within the main program instead being external files. Much easier to manage. Editing the subprograms, instead of creating a macro is a plausible option, but macros are the ultimate. Thanks for the video.

So Haas FINALLY added G66 to their G-codes!!!

now we would need a firmware-update, wich would cost us money (no, they don't do this for free) just so that we can save money = not-win-win-sitiation :( or is there a cost-saving option for firmware-update?

These macro tips are amazing. Part of this video made a feature of g66 macros click in my brain like I just saw Macro Jesus. I really wish someone did Fanuc tips of the day. Finding good videos for stuff like macro programming on fanuc controls, especially older ones, is a nightmare.

Why Haas sell perfectly capable machines and then punish their customers by charging thousands for enabling Macros is beyond me. Other cnc manufacturers offer it free with their software. A few years ago we purchased a VF3 miller and that came with Macros free of charge. As for our ST15 unfortunately it's only available if we part with a few thousand pounds. It's only a code from Haas which is required to activate which can be done online with no need for a service callout so very minimal cost for Haas. Shame . 🙄

@haasautomation is it possible to cut an internal keyway that is wider than the width of the insert using the G156 canned cycle? Looking to cut 0.750"-1.500" wide internal keyways if possible.

If you’re drilling a 2” bolt circle on a face, and the bolt circle is undersize .005… do you adjust the wear .005 or .0025?

my vf4ss that i used all of my savings to buy in 2020 did not come like this. my brand new machine was delivered in a freaking heavy rain storm and driven on an open flat bed for two hours in tbhe rain with a tarp covering it only. my brand new machine had its vacuum sealed cover cut off and all components thrown inside the enclosure, arriving soaking wet and i have had nothing but accuracy issues and io board communication issues since ive had it. i have pictures that prove everything that im saying is true if anyone cares to call me a liar. the biggest thing that sucks is you cant even talk to the manufacturer about the issues and your calls are just routed back to the hfo. the machine cant hold .001'' to save a life. this a last ditch effort for them to make it right bc this only scratches the surface of the level service ive gotten from the hfo.
